The Vision Quest is a traditional native initiation rite of several tribes of the USA and Mexico. The vision quester climbs the mountain with the purpose of seeking a direction in life, a rebirth, or a deepening in self-knowledge through prayers, reflection and commitment. We are in alliance with and oriented by this tradition, with the permission and blessings to lead this ancestral design delivered by the chief of the Sacred Fire of Itzachilatian, Aurelio Diaz Tekpankali. In this way, we make the call, the invocation to the four directions, to the heart of the sky, to the Great Spirit, to the great Mystery, to the heart of the Mother Earth, to the giver of life, and to all life. We seek to understand the purpose of our true nature, to be the sum of multiple tribes and nations. Celebrating the moment in which we recognise ourselves – we are all interconnected, we all have the same origin, the same present and also the same future. For the love and respect of those who came before us, that resolved to bequeath their knowledge, their wisdom and instructions. That we can return to the truth, to the center, to the point of creation and agree to somehow stop the disease and imbalance. Doing the work with clarity, transparency, cleanliness and consistency. With humility, sincerity, will and integrity to be useful and to be of benefit. To strengthen and nourish ourselves in the opportunity to once again place our own truth here, in the center, and together in our time return to the direction of all directions. With this purpose questers are taken to the mountain for a fast from food, water and speech for 4, 7, 9 and 13 days. The intention is that the seeker reaches a greater level of understanding of his/ her purpose or way of life, thus recognising the ways of traditional people who gave us the sacred designs, medicines, knowledge of fasting, meditation, observation, self-study and the conscious interaction with the environment and the elements. That which is hidden is revealed through the mystery, the self-observation, the internal and external manifestations of the quester and through the wisdom of nature.
